Mysteries of Different Skeletons on Lake Roopkund. Many experts are still confused about the appearance of so many skeletons that are in Lake Roopkund or locally known as Mystery Lake or Skeletons Lake which is located in Uttarakhand, India. This lake is located in a valley with an altitude of 16 thousand above sea level. Also, there are no settlements around the valley or lake.
In a study conducted and published in Nature Communications, the frameworks in this lake are divided into three groups. They are DNA that is believed to have originated from the South Asian, Southeast Asian and Eastern Mediterranean regions. Interestingly, the ages of the three groups are not the same. Those who come from the Eastern Mediterranean and Southeast Asia are believed to have a younger age than the South Asian region. Even the difference is believed to be separated for a thousand years.
The Mystery Of The Japanese Army
The first rumor says that the human skeleton is the skeleton of Japanese soldiers who were passing through the Himalayas during the Second World War. They experienced a disaster because of facing a storm when passing through the area.
Even so, this conjecture is disputed because when viewed from their age, these bones have an older age than those of the soldiers.
The Mystery Of Folklore About The Mountain Goddess
The theory that is quite close to the researchers’ guesses is not much different from the folklore that is here. They believe that at that time a group of pilgrim pilgrims who came to the mountain was punished by the mountain goddess directly because they thought they had tarnished the holy area with music and dance.
Although not entirely correct, the assumption is not much different from the allegations of the researchers.
The researchers believe that if this group experienced a sudden blizzard disaster that killed the entire group.
But just to hatch, some facts make me a little confused about it. This is especially so for frameworks originating in the Mediterranean region. Because the region does not follow Hinduism as practiced by the Mediterranean region group.
Even so, the results of the DNA examination of these skeletons indicate a relationship between families or ethnic groups.
Although it sounds terrible, Lake Roopkund is now a tourist destination that is quite attractive to tourists, especially for trekking activities. Danu Roopkun is a lake that freezes all year long. However, these skeletons can be seen when the lake looks shallow during the one month the ice melts. The researchers also believe if there are still so many skeletons that have not been found since it was first discovered in 1942.
